Phoenix Arabians

We run a small stud in beautiful Royal Berkshire concentrating on typey, functional Arabians.

 A deep fascination with breeding, pedigrees and all things Arabian led to the birth of Phoenix Arabians over 30 years ago.  There is nothing quite like the thrill of seeing a new born foal taking that first breath!  Quite early on we had the chance to purchase the ethereal beauty Djammal (Carmargue x Bint Jamiellah) and the rest is history... he is the foundation of our stud and sire and grandsire of our very best broodmares.  Although he crossed the rainbow bridge a while ago now,  we are very proud that his powerful and very important genes and traits (now in the fifth generation) are evident in almost everything we breed nowadays.  As well as being a prolific show winner, Djammal became an AHS Premium stallion due to the outstanding achievements of his progeny.

We combine the running of the stud with careers in the IT industry and endeavour to keep numbers low, focusing on quality.  Temperament and trainability is key.  Not all horses make it as show horses and therefore must have the conformation and mental ability to progress in other areas, whether it be a happy hacker, endurance horse or three day eventer.  Horses that we have bred generally can do both, being successful in the show ring  as youngsters (it is good education for babies) and then progressing onto a  ‘proper job’ :)

We are very proud and excited about our current stallion Alonzo, who is sired by triple crown champion Abha Qatar (Marwan Al Shaqab) out of Casablanca by Djammal.  Multi Champion in hand and under saddle.  Awarded Premium performance stallion status this year by the Arab Horse Society.   His babies are already champions in hand and are now excelling under saddle, just like their dad.
